Was this justified?

I had to meat my girlfriends parents for dinner, this was my first time meeting them so i was nervous. they seemed kind of old fashioned and serious so i thought i could make them like me if i made them laugh. So when we were sitting at the table having dinner i lifted up my bleg and blew out a mive loud fart, i sterted giggling hysterically and fanned my arms to waft the smell around the table. i thought they would crack up but they threw me out of the house! do you think they were justified? and what would you have done if you were them?
