Reading and Comprehension

Figure out what he's really interested in (they always have *something* they're really focused on at that age) and find some reading-level-appropriate books on it. Read them first, then set aside time specifically for him to read and try to encourage it. Casually quiz him about the content of the book from time to time, ask if he's still interested in the topic, etc.
